Erin A. Paul is currently playing fourth horn for the Florida Grand Opera and Palm Beach Symphony, and is freelancing in Miami and New York City. She recently returned to the United States after spending the 2012-2013 season in Sarajevo, Bosnia-Herzegovina playing fourth horn for the Sarajevska Filharmonija. The Sarajevo Philharmonic supports the Bosnian National Theater, performing symphonic repertoire, opera and ballet throughout the season.

Prior to her appointment in Sarajevo, Erin was an active freelance musician in the Las Vegas area. She performed with the Las Vegas Philharmonic in the new Smith Center for the Performing Arts, and in Broadway shows on the Strip. She earned her Master of Music degree in horn performance from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2012, studying with Bill Bernatis.

A Connecticut native, Erin earned her bachelor's degree from the Hartt School of Music in music history and horn performance, studying with NYC freelancers Dan Grabois (Meridian Arts Ensemble) and Peter Reit (American Ballet Theater, Phantom of the Opera). While freelancing in the Hartford area, Erin has performed with the Goodspeed Opera House, Hartford Opera Theater, Connecticut Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra, and the Rocky Hill Town Theater.

Erin has performed with a variety of summer festival orchestras, including the Ash Lawn Opera Orchestra, Franco-American Vocal Academy (PĂ©rigueux, France), Sewanee Summer Music Festival and Lake Tahoe Orchestral Academy.

Erin's blog "Horn in Real Life" documents her experiences in Sarajevo and beyond, and can be found at http://www.erinapaul.com/blog.

Erin is based in NYC, and lives with her partner Aleks and their furry child Rudy.

Miguel wrote on LinkedIn: "I worked with Erin as an accompanist. Erin successfully combines professional musicianship with a down-to-earth approach to the rehearsal/teaching process, which allows to bring out the best results in most musicians, in all environments."

Justin wrote on LinkedIn: "Erin Paul is, quite frankly, one of the most gifted musicians I know. In the ensemble, she is a musical force that can not be shaken no matter how demanding the piece. In the classroom, her charisma and passion for the material help her students maintain understanding and remain engaged. All this, and she is amazingly fun to know and has a truly stand up personality. You should not be without her. I know I can't. - Justin Raines"

Doug wrote on LinkedIn: "Erin did a great job managing studio operations, promoting the business through social media, helping with music related projects all while attending college. In addition, she was point person for a new summer outdoor concert series and managed it's operation for two years. This often required the delicate juggling of client's needs and performers egos. I'm happy to report that series now enters it's fourth season and is a resounding success. Erin's a motivated self-starter who was a tremendous asset to my company. A team player possessed with a positive attitude and hard work ethic. I heartily recommend her to any quality organization. Just don't ask her to play blues on the French Horn!"

Cathryn wrote on LinkedIn: "I worked with Erin for several years in various different large ensembles as well as in a wind quintet we had together. In addition to consistently coming to rehearsal on time and well-prepared, she always projected a positive and constructive attitude with an excellent sense of humor. She is an exemplary collaborator, both as a team player and ensemble leader. An accomplished horn player and musician, she is always open-minded and fearless toward trying out new musical ideas, genres, or formats. I would heartily recommend Erin to anyone looking for a great horn player who is an all-around joy to work with."

Joseph wrote on LinkedIn: "Erin is a consummate professional. Not only does she have an A+ personality and vast knowledge of webdesign, she is organized, creative, patient, and responds to inquiries immediately! I give Erin my absolute highest recommendation, and look forward to working with her on future projects."
